The Audi R8<\/strong> is a mid-engine, 2-seater sports car, which uses Audi’s<\/strong> trademark quattro<\/strong> permanent all-wheel drive system. It was introduced by the German automaker Audi AG<\/strong> in 2006.<\/p>\n The car was exclusively designed, developed, and manufactured by Audi AG’s high performance private subsidiary company, quattro GmbH,<\/strong> and is base to the Lamborghini Gallardo<\/strong> platform. The fundamental construction of the R8<\/strong> is based on the Audi Space Frame<\/strong>, and uses an aluminium<\/strong> monocoque which is built using space frame principles.
