The Moto Guzzi California<\/strong> (aka Cali) is a motorcycle manufactured by Italian company Moto Guzzi<\/strong> since 1971, bringing together the company’s heritage, their iconic air-cooled 90\u00b0 V<\/strong>-twin engines and styling that evokes the classic American Cruiser<\/strong> motorcycle.<\/p>\n The first California<\/strong> was designed with the direct input of the Los Angeles Police Department Traffic Division<\/strong> to be the department’s new V7 of choice. Original features included a left-foot gearshift, a bulletproof Lexan windshield and a sprung sidestand, along with the requisite siren, radio, extra police lights, and ability to complete a standing quarter mile in 16 seconds or less. The success of the model led to other police departments ordering their own, including the California Highway Patrol<\/strong>.<\/p>\n At its introduction, the civilian production Moto Guzzi California<\/strong> was part of a trio of motorcycles that included the Special, California<\/strong> and Ambassador.
