The <strong>Coupe Aileron<\/strong> was introduced at the 2009\u00a0Geneva Motor Show\u00a0while the Spyder came a few months later at the <strong>2009\u00a0Pebble Beach Concours d&#8217;Elegance<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Both cars are powered by a 400 hp 4.2 litre\u00a0V8\u00a0sourced from\u00a0Audi. The German powerplant is attached to a choice between a <strong>6-speed Manual from\u00a0Getrag<\/strong>\u00a0or a <strong>paddle-shifted 6-speed<\/strong> Automatic from\u00a0<strong>ZF.<\/strong> Compared to its predecessors, the Aileron is re-engineered from scratch, featuring a longer aluminum space-frame chassis supporting the machined aluminum aircraft-inspired bodywork and diamond-quilted, retro <strong>switchgeared<\/strong> steampunk interior.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to Spyker, &#8220;The C8 Aileron&#8217;s design is heavily inspired by Spyker&#8217;s aviation heritage, as was the case with all previous models, but with a clear emphasis on the second-generation aircraft propulsion: the turbine rather than the propeller that adorned so many elements of the first-generation cars.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The\u00a0Spyker C8 Aileron\u00a0and\u00a0C8 Aileron Spyder\u00a0are Dutch supercars built by Dutch boutique manufacturer\u00a0Spyker.
