{"id":237147,"date":"2014-09-17T22:00:00","date_gmt":"2014-09-17T20:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rtrsports.com\/motogp-jack-miller-moves-up-to-motogp-with-honda-lcr\/"},"modified":"2024-08-09T02:10:15","modified_gmt":"2024-08-09T00:10:15","slug":"motogp-jack-miller-moves-up-to-motogp-with-honda-lcr","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rtrsports.com\/en\/blog\/motogp-jack-miller-moves-up-to-motogp-with-honda-lcr\/","title":{"rendered":"MotoGP: Jack Miller moves up to MotoGP with Honda LCR"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/rtrsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/503643-3-scaled-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-11513\" src=\"https:\/\/rtrsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/503643-3-scaled-1.jpg\" alt=\"Jack_miller\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a>Some gossip seems to be omnipresent in the <strong>MotoGP<\/strong> paddock, but one of the biggest myths was now revealed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Jack Miller<\/strong> will, with the direct support of <strong>HRC,<\/strong> move up into the <strong>MotoGP<\/strong> class right away, without competing in <strong>Moto2<\/strong> first.\u00a0This decision makes him the second rider in <strong>MotoGP<\/strong> history to ever skip a class.\u00a0Only his fellow countrymen <strong>Gary McCoy<\/strong> did the same thing in 1998, eliding the 250cc class and going up to ride the 500cc-bike right away.<\/p>\n<p>Miller, who is well known in the paddock for his aussie-like straightness, will start the 2015 season in the team of <strong>Lucio Cecchinello<\/strong>.\u00a0He&#8217;ll be the teammate of <strong>Cal Crutchlow<\/strong>, who is new to the team, too.\u00a0The brit will ride the factory supported <strong>RC213V<\/strong> Honda, whereas <strong>Miller<\/strong> will compete in the o<strong>pen category<\/strong>.\u00a0The contract between <strong>Miller<\/strong> and <strong>HRC<\/strong> runs for three years, placing him in the <strong>LCR Honda<\/strong> team for the first two years.<\/p>\n<p>This finally eliminates the conjecuters about <strong>Miller&#8217;s<\/strong> future and will make the talk about the issues with <strong>Marc VDS Moto2<\/strong> team fall silent.\u00a0The aussie had signed a pre-contract with the belgian-based team, placing him there for the 2015 and 2016 season, but later on his manager <strong>Aki Ajo <\/strong>and Miller himself denied that his was a binding agreement.\u00a0The case is now clarified in court.<\/p>\n<p>How he will fare in the highest class of motorcycle racing remains to been seen, but his future team chef Luccio Cecchinello said, they&#8217;re in no rush.\u00a0The first year will be a learning year for Miller, to get comfortable with the new, more powerful, bike.\u00a0The current <strong>Red Bull KTM Ajo Motorsport<\/strong> rider will switch from a 250cc Moto3 bike to a <strong>1000cc MotoGP bike<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>A huge step, that was questioned by many top riders, including <strong>MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi<\/strong> and current world champion <strong>Marc M\u00e1rquez<\/strong>. But according to his well known personality, Miller was quoted, that the more people told him not to switch, the more he wanted to.
