A winter of development by Yamaha engineers and exhaustive training by the riders sees a formidable team gathered and ready to prove themselves against the best in the world.<\/span><\/p>\n The ceremony saw the 2015\u00a0<\/span>Yamaha YZR-M1\u00a0<\/strong>revealed in its new colours with a revised and resized Movistar logo and a refreshed livery. Also presented were the Team\u2019s new partners:\u00a0<\/span>Abarth<\/strong>, the FCA Group\u2019s prestigious, sports oriented, brand that joins Yamaha on a two-year partnership, and\u00a0<\/span>Cromax<\/strong>, the global coatings brand for refinish body-shops. The 2015 season will be the second year of partnership between the Yamaha Factory Team and Spanish company\u00a0<\/span>Telef\u00f3nica<\/strong>. The five-year collaboration started in 2014 looks set to grow from strength to strength, making\u00a0<\/span>Telef\u00f3nica<\/strong>\u2019s<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong>headquarters in Madrid the perfect venue to unveil the 2015 livery.<\/span>
The formidable duo of Italian\u00a0<\/span>Valentino Rossi<\/strong>\u00a0and Spaniard\u00a0<\/span>Jorge Lorenzo<\/strong>\u00a0remain unchanged as the rider line up for the team. Nine-time world champion\u00a0<\/span>Rossi\u00a0<\/strong>delighted the racing world in 2014 with an impressive season, returning to form as a key protagonist. \u2018The Doctor\u2019 increased the pressure round after round to finish the season in a well deserved second position.\u00a0Four-time world champion\u00a0<\/span>Lorenzo<\/strong>\u00a0had a tougher start to the season but went on to find his rhythm, keeping his teammate firmly in his sights in the podium battles that marked the climax to the year and earning him third in the final standings. 2015 sees them both heading to Sepang for the first test of the year in top form, both physically and mentally, and as very real title contenders.<\/span>
The 2015\u00a0<\/span>Movistar Yamaha MotoGP<\/strong>\u00a0Team line up is unveiled for the first time at the\u00a0<\/span>Distrito Telef\u00f3nica\u00a0<\/strong>in Madrid, the headquarters that is normally home to a workforce of 14,000 employees.<\/span>
Presenting the team were MotoGP superstars\u00a0<\/span>Valentino Rossi<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span>Jorge Lorenzo<\/strong>, alongside the president of Telef\u00f3nica Espa\u00f1a,\u00a0<\/span>Luis Miguel Gilp\u00e9rez<\/strong>. They were joined by the General Manager of Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd\u2019s Motorsport Division,\u00a0<\/span>Kouichi Tsuji,\u00a0<\/strong>the Managing Director of<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong>Yamaha Motor Racing Srl,\u00a0<\/span>Lin Jarvis<\/strong>, and Movistar Yamaha MotoGP\u2019s Team Director,<\/span>\u00a0Massimo Meregalli<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
The team now travels to Malaysia where the season will\u00a0officially\u00a0kick off with the first test at Sepang on 4<\/span>th<\/sup>, 5<\/span>th<\/sup>\u00a0and 6<\/span>th<\/sup>\u00a0February. This will be the first opportunity for the riders to shake-down the\u00a0<\/span>2015 YZR-M1<\/strong>\u00a0before the beginning of the championship in Qatar on 29<\/span>th<\/sup>\u00a0March.<\/span><\/p>\n
