It is with pleasure that we re-post their article, originally published by\u00a0<strong>Adeline Henry de Frahan<\/strong> and titled &#8220;<strong>Gender Gap in Sports and Sponsorship<\/strong> [infographic]. Optimy&#8217;s original post is <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.optimy.com\/gender-gap-in-sports-and-sponsorships-infographic\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>. See infographic of the highest celebrity endorsements in sports industry compared below.<br \/>\n<strong>Although women in the household make most of the purchase decisions<\/strong> and are projected to drive 70 &#8211; 80% of all consumer purchasing by 2018, according to professional services firm EY, studies have proven that only 19.6% of sponsorships target women as the primary market.<\/p>\n<p>A very successful story confirming that targeting women and promoting female athletes pays off is <strong>Under Armour\u2019s<\/strong>, the <strong>America<\/strong>n clothing and accessories company, campaign \u201cI will what I want\u201d.
