{"id":237698,"date":"2017-06-25T22:00:00","date_gmt":"2017-06-25T20:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rtrsports.com\/lcr-crutchlow-clinch-4th-place-in-assen-after-fine-ride\/"},"modified":"2024-08-09T02:58:42","modified_gmt":"2024-08-09T00:58:42","slug":"lcr-crutchlow-clinch-4th-place-in-assen-after-fine-ride","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rtrsports.com\/en\/blog\/lcr-crutchlow-clinch-4th-place-in-assen-after-fine-ride\/","title":{"rendered":"LCR, Crutchlow clinch 4th place in Assen after fine ride"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>LCR Honda rider <strong>Cal Crutchlow<\/strong> produced a superb performance at the <strong>Dutch Grand Prix<\/strong> to claim fourth place after a thrilling finale at <strong>Assen.<\/strong> The <strong>Briton<\/strong> held his nerve after a disappointing start and fought his way back to ensure he was contesting the podium places by the time rain started to fall over the closing laps of the race.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Cal Crutchlow TT Assen 2017<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Having started from eighth on the grid, <strong>Crutchlow<\/strong> got away slowly but found some incredible pace as the race headed to its climax. Having passed Ducati\u2019s <strong>Andrea Dovizioso<\/strong> to take fourth spot on the penultimate lap, the <strong>LCR<\/strong> man then showed his class to move past Marc <strong>Marquez<\/strong> and into a podium position. However, the three-time world champion hit back at the second to last corner to retake third, leaving <strong>Crutchlow<\/strong> to settle for a fine fourth place after a memorable battle.<\/p>\n<p>Yamaha\u2019s Valentino Rossi claimed victory with fellow Italian Danilo Petrucci second on his <strong>Ducati.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/rtrsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/Senza-titolo-2-3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-16530\" src=\"https:\/\/rtrsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/Senza-titolo-2-3.jpg\" alt=\"crutchlow_2017_motogp\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Cal Crutchlow &#8211; 4th<\/h3>\n<p><em>&#8220;I\u2019m pleased to finish and pleased to finish fourth. I was a little disappointed with my pace in the middle of the race, I had some sort of problem with my front tyre and I couldn\u2019t push as hard as I wanted to. But I still thought we were on for a good result and kept battling.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cI got a bad start and that really hindered me, as well as not starting from the front rows. I think that really cost me the podium or even the chance to fight for the win because the pace was not drastically fast. After it started to rain I kept a cool head, but I made a mistake by showing Marc (Marquez) and (Andrea Dovizioso) Dovi my hand, I went too early and should have passed them on the last lap.
