In doing so the Frenchman takes control of the event&#8217;s provisional overall standings. Making the day even more special for the\u00a0<strong>Yamalube Yamaha Official Rally Team<\/strong>, Adrien&#8217;s team-mate\u00a0<strong>Xavier de Soultrait\u00a0<\/strong>claimed the runner-up spot on today&#8217;s stage to move up to a very strong fifth position in the provisional overall standings.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-large wp-image-17658\" src=\"https:\/\/rtrsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/X0XYVG2BTXVRXLAT1S3A-3.jpeg\" alt=\"motocross\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"article-body\">\n<p>Everything went according to plan for <strong>Van Beveren<\/strong> on Tuesday&#8217;s stage four of the <strong>Dakar.<\/strong> Making full use of his advantageous starting position &#8211; within the second group of riders &#8211; he put his vast sand racing experience to good use. Remaining focused on his navigation and pushing hard until the very end, he completed the timed special stage five minutes faster than his teammate Xavier de Soultrait and a blistering seven minutes faster than the rest of the field.<\/p>\n<h2>Four main stages<\/h2>\n<p>Four stages into this year&#8217;s <strong>Dakar Rally<\/strong> and Van Beveren is currently leading the overall standings by a little less than two minutes over his closest rival <strong>Pablo Quintanilla<\/strong>. With still a long way to go in this 40<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0edition of the event, Adrien remains focused on the ultimate goal of making history by bringing Yamaha back to the top of the <strong>Dakar Rally<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Fast from the get go, <strong>Xavier de Soultrait<\/strong> enjoyed his best stage to date in this year&#8217;s event. Being among the first group of riders to take the start, the <strong>Frenchman<\/strong> found himself provisionally leading the pack, only to be passed by his team-mate Van Beveren after the halfway mark. Securing the runner-up spot of the stage, Xavier is now fifth in the rally&#8217;s provisional overall standings, seven minutes and 34 seconds behind Adrien.<\/p>\n<p>Stage four saw <strong>Franco Caimi<\/strong> put in yet another strong performance in this year&#8217;s<strong> Dakar Rally<\/strong>. Avoiding any costly mistakes the young rider from <strong>Argentina<\/strong> claimed 11<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0on the stage to move up to eighth in the overall standings.<\/p>\n<p>Enjoying a mistake-free performance, <strong>Yamalube Yamaha Official Rally<\/strong> Team&#8217;s <strong>Rodney Faggoter<\/strong> has now made it into the top 20 in the rally&#8217;s overall standings. Securing 21<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0on stage four, the Aussie racer is now 18<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0in the overall standings.<\/p>\n<p>Yamaha&#8217;s domination continues in the quad class of the <strong>2018 Dakar Rally<\/strong>. With <strong>Sergei Kariakin<\/strong> winning the stage, Chile&#8217;s <strong>Ignacio Casale<\/strong> retains the provisional overall lead after stage four of the rally.<\/p>\n<p>Leaving the <strong>San Juan de Marcon<\/strong>a bivouac and heading south, competitors will have to race a 266km-long special stage on their way to the city of Arequipa tomorrow.
