The 2023 <\/span>F1<\/u><\/strong><\/a>\u00a0calendar<\/strong>, which has been given the go-ahead by the World Motor Sport Council \u2013 WMSC, was announced by Formula 1 on September 20th, 2022.<\/span><\/p>\n

Red Bull Racing, Ferrari, Mercedes and the rest of the pack will take to the track in Bahrain<\/strong> on March 5 , and the season will conclude in Abu Dhabi<\/strong> on November 26, with a record-breaking 23 races scheduled. Qatar will return, while Las Vegas<\/u><\/strong><\/a> will debut as the season\u2019s final round for a Saturday night race.<\/p>\n

The sport\u2019s governing body, the FIA, has approved a maximum of 26 races for the season but Formula 1 has opted to schedule 23.<\/p>\n

The 2023 Formula 1 new calendar is set to include 23 races, two more than the previous season\u2013making it the longest schedule in the 74-year history of the sport. This \u201cpunishing\u201d calendar represents an effort that the sport is making to answer to the growing interest about F1 racing.<\/p>\n

F1 confirms 23 venues for 2023 campaign<\/h2>\n

The sport\u2019s governing body, the FIA, and the WMSC revealed a record race calendar for 2023. The first edition of the Las Vegas GP<\/strong>, which will take place on a Saturday night.<\/p>\n

The F1 calendar has seen a number of adjustments in recent years. New tracks have been added to the program, including the Jeddah Corniche Circuit in Saudi Arabia, while previous events such as the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne<\/strong> and the race in Singapore<\/strong> will be resurrected after the Covid-19 epidemic caused them to be discontinued. In recent years, too, the Canadian and Japanese Grands Prix were canceled for similar reasons.<\/p>\n

Qatar makes a return to the calendar after debuting in 2021, while Monaco<\/strong> holds its place despite in the 2023 calendar initial concerns about contract negotiation.<\/p>\n

The regular summer break will stay in August, though changes to competition dates witness Belgium<\/strong> move to the end of July as a back-to-back with Hungary. The Netherlands is now beside Italy<\/strong> after competitive racing resumes.<\/p>\n

The United States GP<\/strong> at COTA, Mexican and Brazilian GP stay the same on the F1 calendar.
\nThe three close races lead to Vegas.<\/p>\n

As announced, the 2023 French GP<\/strong> will be absent from the championship. This is not the first time that the French GP has had difficulty: after 2008, the leg was dropped from the F1 calendar and then revived in 2018 with Circuit Paul Ricard. Let\u2019s hope that in the near future a deal could be signed and that this historic race could be back on the formula one schedule.<\/p>\n

    New races on the F1 calendar in 2023<\/h2>\n

    Given that we already knew the makeup of the vast majority of the tracks, there are few surprises. The only type of surprise is China<\/strong> and Qatar,<\/strong> who were considered to be unlikely participants. China has beend in fact cancelled but Qatar has been confirmed. With no real evidence that a promised new circuit would return in 2023, the Qatari event was anticipated, but with Covid limitations in place across China, a comeback appeared improbable.<\/p>\n

    However, the remainder of the schedule is quite similar. Bahrain<\/strong> will open on the 5th of March and Saudi Arabia will follow two weeks later. The teams will then go to Australia before returning via Azerbaijan.<\/p>\n

    Three amazing events, Imola,<\/strong>\u00a0Monaco and Spain<\/strong> will host the European legs as normal, before returning to North America for races in Canada, the United States, and Mexico. Brazil rounds out the season as normal on November 20.<\/p>\n

    Three races in the United States in 2023 for Formula 1<\/h2>\n

    The 2023 Formula 1 calendar was announced by the series, which will feature three stops in the United States and one in Las Vegas<\/strong> at the end of the season. The race in Las Vegas will be the conclusion of a four-week stretch that includes North and South American races.<\/p>\n

    The first race in the United States is held on May 7, 2023, when the Formula 1 Crypto.com<\/a> Miami GP<\/strong> takes center stage. Red Bull\u2019s\u00a0 Max Verstappen won the 2022 maiden edition.<\/p>\n

    The 2023 edition of the United States Grand Prix will be held in October at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas. Verstappen took victory in the 2022 United States Grand Prix and the 2023 event is set for October 22nd.<\/p>\n

    The race at COTA will start a four-week run of F1 in North and South America, with the circuit heading to Mexico following week then Brazil the next. Following that, F1 comes to Las Vegas for a new Saturday-night race. The Las Vegas GP will see drivers zip through downtown Las Vegas, with an official 10 p.m. \u201clights out\u201d start time.<\/p>\n

    Monaco GP gets new three-year deal<\/h2>\n

    Following the FIA\u2019s announcement on 20th September that the F1 calendar will remain unchanged for 2023, Formula 1 has now confirmed all of the GP locations and that Monaco will return at least until 2024.<\/p>\n

    One of motorsport\u2019s Triple Crown races was in significant jeopardy after the previous deal expired at the end of 2022, and no new agreement had been reached when this year\u2019s race took place.<\/p>\n

    Even though races on this circuit are highly prestigious due to its history and legacy, there is often a lack of racing action. The circuit is notoriously difficult to overtake on \u2013 drivers have to be skilled to win here.<\/p>\n
