The paddock does not sell that way. It sells by organization, and most organizations run in both championships. That single fact changes how the F2 sponsorship cost should be read, and it changes who you call first. This guide prices the junior paddock by team and by car, explains what moves the number, and sets out what is open for 2027. Because ten of the eleven F2 teams also field F3 entries, a single agreement can cover both championships and up to five cars. That is the extractable fact at the center of this page, and it reframes F2 team sponsorship as something closer to a two-series purchase than most brands assume.

Four variables decide any junior-paddock quote: the organization and how competitive it is; the asset and its position on the car; how many cars it appears on; and the term. The sections that follow take them in order, then cover 2027 availability and close with a budget table.

One point on evidence. Neither series publishes a rate card, nor do the teams, so this page explains what moves the number rather than pretending to be a price list. Every figure here is a directional estimate. The tier bands live in our guide to F1 vs F2 vs F3 sponsorship, which ranges from supplier positions in the low thousands of dollars to F2 title deals approaching $1 million a season. What the same money buys one rung up is in our F1 sponsorship cost guide.

Why one F2 team sponsorship usually buys F3 presence too

The cross-entry structure is the norm in the junior paddock, not an exception. In Formula 1, a constructor competes in one championship; in the feeder series, the same racing organization usually runs a team in each, from the same workshop, with the same commercial department and often the same hospitality unit at the circuit. For a brand, that means a conversation about an F2 team sponsorship is very often also a conversation about F3, whether or not anyone says so at the start. Two things follow: the structural fact itself, which is checkable against the entry lists, and the arithmetic it produces, which is where the commercial consequence lands.

Which teams run in both F2 and F3, and the one that does not

The 2026 position is clear. Ten organizations field entries in both championships: Campos Racing, PREMA Racing, Trident, ART Grand Prix, MP Motorsport, Rodin Motorsport, Hitech, DAMS Lucas Oil, AIX Racing and Van Amersfoort Racing. Invicta Racing competes in F2 only. Every team on the F3 grid also runs in F2. The F3 line-up is fixed for longer than most brands realize: the same ten teams were selected for the 2025 to 2027 cycle, with three cars each.

The structure exists for a reason. The junior ladder is a talent pipeline, and an organization that runs a driver in F3 has an obvious sporting and commercial interest in promoting that driver into its own F2 seat. Dual entry is the business model, not an accident. It also spreads the organization’s fixed costs, from engineering staff to logistics and hospitality, across two programs, which is part of why the combined package can be priced attractively.

The commercial consequence for a brand is direct, and it is why any F2 sponsorship conversation is usually an F3 conversation too. The counterparty for an F2 position and the counterparty for an F3 team sponsorship are usually the same company, so the two should be negotiated as one conversation, not two. A brand that runs separate processes for each series will often end up negotiating against itself.

Entry lists change between seasons, so confirm the current grids against the official F2 and F3 team pages before any deal is priced.

McLaren F1 Sponsors 2026: Complete Partner Portfolio & Sponsorship Guide

Cost per car, not cost per series: the arithmetic brands get wrong

The car counts are simple. An F2 team fields two cars; an F3 team fields three. A dual-entry organization therefore runs five cars across the two championships, on the race weekends both series share.

Now look at what that does to a comparison. A quote for an F2 position covers two cars over the F2 calendar. A quote for the same asset in F3 covers three cars over the F3 calendar, which has fewer rounds. A combined position covers five cars on every Grand Prix weekend where both championships support the F1 race. A brand comparing an F2 number against an F3 number as if they were like-for-like is comparing different quantities of a different product, and the F2 sponsorship cost will look worse than it is.

The instruction is plain: ask every organization to quote per car and per championship, ask for the combined figure, and compare on that basis. Ask, too, which rounds each quote covers, because the F3 calendar is shorter than the F2 calendar, and a per-car figure that ignores the number of race weekends is only half a comparison. With those three numbers in hand, quotes from different organizations finally become comparable.

The honest qualifier is that more cars is not automatically more value. F3 carries less broadcast exposure per car than F2, and a brand chasing reach should weight the comparison accordingly, as our guide to motorsports sponsorship ROI explains.

F1 Sponsorship ROI Benchmarks: What Return Does Each Budget Level Actually Deliver?

What sets the price of an F2 or F3 sponsorship

Four things move the number. The tier definitions behind them are in our guide to types of motorsports sponsorship; this section is about what makes one quote higher than another.

Team competitiveness comes first, and it is the variable that moves an F2 sponsorship quote the most. The junior paddock has a clear hierarchy, and it moves. Invicta won both the F2 drivers’ and teams’ titles in 2024 and again in 2025. In F3, Campos won its first teams’ title in 2025 after Trident had finished runner-up in five of the previous six seasons, and PREMA, the 2024 F3 teams’ champions, dropped into the lower half of the 2025 standings. A front-running team commands a premium and a rebuilding one does not. In a spec series, where every team runs identical machinery, that hierarchy reflects operation and people rather than budget.

Asset and position come second. The principle that governs Formula 1 logo placement cost applies here on a smaller scale: position on the car matters more than most first-time junior sponsors expect, and a poor placement buys very little. Junior cars are smaller and carry fewer surfaces than an F1 car, and broadcast coverage frames them less often, so the gap between a well-placed logo and a badly placed one is proportionally wider. Ask where the cameras actually find the car before agreeing where the logo sits.

Car count is the third variable, covered in the previous section, and the one most often left out of a comparison.

Term is the fourth. Multi-season commitments price better per year here, as they do everywhere, and junior teams value them disproportionately because their revenue base is thinner; the logic is set out in our guide to multi-year motorsport sponsorship contracts.

One point distinguishes the two championships. F3 is cheaper per position, but not necessarily per car once exposure is weighed, and F3 team sponsorship bought as a discount option rather than as part of a plan rarely delivers. A brand that treats F3 simply as the cheap end of the ladder has not run the arithmetic. No published rate cards exist in either series, so treat every number in a junior-paddock negotiation as directional until it is in a signed proposal; that applies to the F2 sponsorship cost as much as to anything quoted in F3.

No rate cards. Someone has to know.We benchmark junior quotes against deals that were actually signed.

Why Choose RTR Sports

What is open for 2027, and when junior grids actually settle

Junior grids form early. For 2026, F3 line-ups were substantially announced before the post-season test, with at least one team naming its drivers the previous September, which means commercial packages are assembled well ahead of the F1 cycle many brands are used to. The F3 teams themselves are already fixed for 2027, as the last year of the current three-season cycle, which makes the remaining question who drives for them and which assets are still unsold.

For a brand planning junior formula sponsorship for 2027, the useful conversations happen in the autumn before the season. A brand that waits for the F1 driver market to settle will find the junior paddock already committed. The sequence matters as well: teams finalize drivers and budgets together, and a driver’s backers often bring partners of their own, so the inventory a brand can buy is shaped in part by who is signed to drive. An F2 sponsorship agreed in October is negotiated against a blank livery; the same conversation in February is negotiated against whatever is left.

What tends to be open, and where? Positions on rebuilding teams are more available and cheaper than positions on front-runners, in F3 team sponsorship especially, where three cars per team means more surfaces to sell. A team coming off a difficult season is also more willing to build a package around a brand’s sponsorship activation plan rather than its own rate card.. The combined F2-plus-F3 package is generally easier to secure than a standalone position on a championship-winning car, because it suits the team’s own planning as much as the brand’s.

The availability question a brand should ask is not what is open but what is expiring. Junior sponsorships tend to run shorter than F1’s, so inventory turns over faster, and a category taken this year may be free next. That turnover is one reason the term structures in our guide to multi-year motorsport sponsorship contracts matter here too: a two-season deal signed now secures a position that would otherwise be back on the market.

Availability shifts week to week in the autumn, so read this section as a description of how the market behaves, not as a snapshot of who has what.

Junior ladder, or straight to F1?We price the whole ladder, from F3 suppliers to F1 title deals.

Racing car sponsorship

F2 and F3 sponsorship by budget: what to buy and which team to approach

The table maps budget to structure and to type of team; the tier bands themselves stay in our guide to F1 vs F2 vs F3 sponsorship. A brand that prices it by championship will compare quotes that were never comparable, and will miss the combined package that is usually the best value in the sport. F2 sponsorship is best bought together with an F3 position, from one team, priced per car. The window for 2027 is open now, and junior grids settle early.
