Prenez, par exemple, les <strong>500 miles d&#8217;Indianapolis<\/strong> ou <strong>Daytona<\/strong>: les courses ont attach\u00e9 une identit\u00e9 si particuli\u00e8re \u00e0 leurs lieux respectifs qu&#8217;elles sont d\u00e9sormais indissociables de la culture populaire. D&#8217;autres fois, des territoires utilisent les <strong>Coupes du monde de football<\/strong>, les <strong>Jeux olympiques<\/strong> ou les <strong>Grands Prix<\/strong> pour redynamiser leur image et se d\u00e9marquer sur la carte du monde, qu&#8217;il s&#8217;agisse de <strong>Sotchi<\/strong> en Russie, de <strong>Bakou<\/strong> en Azerba\u00efdjan ou des pays d&#8217;Asie du Sud-Est.<\/p>\n<p>D&#8217;autre part, lorsque les territoires ne sont pas en mesure d&#8217;organiser ou d&#8217;accueillir des \u00e9v\u00e9nements sportifs majeurs, ils ont tendance \u00e0 <strong>utiliser de<\/strong> plus en plus <strong>le sport et le parrainage sportif pour promouvoir leurs offres sur de longues distances<\/strong> aupr\u00e8s de touristes ou d&#8217;investisseurs potentiels. Les maillots<strong>&#8220;Visit Rwanda<\/strong>&#8221; des joueurs d&#8217;Arsenal, qui ont fait couler beaucoup d&#8217;encre, et de nombreuses autres initiatives similaires en sont des exemples.<\/p>\n<p>En r\u00e9sum\u00e9, il <strong>y a deux fa\u00e7ons possibles de cr\u00e9er un lien entre les \u00e9v\u00e9nements sportifs et les territoires :<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong><em>Une nation, une r\u00e9gion ou une ville peut organiser des \u00e9v\u00e9nements sportifs sur son propre territoire dans le but de promouvoir l&#8217;\u00e9conomie du pays et les placements marketing. C&#8217;est ce qu&#8217;on appelle une op\u00e9ration de &#8220;g\u00e9omarketing&#8221; ou de marketing territorial ; <\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><em>Une nation, une r\u00e9gion ou une ville peut utiliser le parrainage sportif avec des \u00e9quipes\/clubs ou des athl\u00e8tes g\u00e9ographiquement \u00e9loign\u00e9s afin d&#8217;accro\u00eetre la visibilit\u00e9 du territoire et d&#8217;attirer des touristes et des investisseurs.<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>L&#8217;objectif influence fortement le choix<\/h2>\n<p>Comme indiqu\u00e9 plus haut, les grands \u00e9v\u00e9nements sportifs ont le pouvoir imm\u00e9diat de mettre un lieu, une ville ou un pays sous les feux de la rampe. Dans de nombreux cas, comme les <strong>Jeux olympiques<\/strong> ou la <strong>Coupe du monde de football<\/strong>, les \u00e9v\u00e9nements sportifs sont \u00e9galement une bonne occasion de <strong>rajeunir les infrastructures existantes<\/strong>, de construire de nouveaux quartiers dans la ville et de r\u00e9organiser les syst\u00e8mes de transport. Ils permettent de mettre en valeur l&#8217;un des plus beaux charmes du monde, tout en contribuant \u00e0 dynamiser les entreprises locales et \u00e0 rehausser le prestige de la ville. <strong>Barcelone<\/strong> en est un exemple. R\u00e9sultat ? <strong>Imola a \u00e9t\u00e9 reconnue par tous en son temps,<\/strong>malgr\u00e9 sa petite taille et son manque de charme qui la rend unique (sans vouloir offenser nos chers amis d&#8217;Imola, ce sont eux qui m\u00e9ritent notre reconnaissance pour leurs efforts enthousiastes afin de maintenir l&#8217;esprit d&#8217;union de nos deux r\u00e9gions &#8211; l&#8217;\u00c9milie et la Romagne). Il serait peut-\u00eatre int\u00e9ressant de tester le niveau de <strong>connaissance d&#8217;Imola chez les adolescents d&#8217;aujourd&#8217;hui<\/strong>, \u00e9tant donn\u00e9 qu&#8217;ils n&#8217;ont jamais connu le plaisir de regarder les duels historiques de F1 qui se sont d\u00e9roul\u00e9s sur le circuit surnomm\u00e9 Enzo et Dino Ferrari \u00e0 l&#8217;\u00e9poque.<\/p>\n<h2>R\u00e9flexions autour de ce th\u00e8me<\/h2>\n<p>Un grand \u00e9v\u00e9nement sportif peut \u00eatre <strong>le moteur \u00e9conomique de toute une zone g\u00e9ographique<\/strong>, mais aussi le <strong>porte-voix d&#8217;une nation<\/strong> qui a besoin et envie d&#8217;\u00eatre reconnue et appr\u00e9ci\u00e9e.
