The man behind the camera
Mirco Lazzari was born in Castel San Pietro, just a few yards from Imola, the racing heart of the Motor Valley, where he still lives today. For the whole of his life, the profund love of photography has combined with a great passion for anything that’s motor, producing photographs that are not only images, but true emotions. In his pictures, absolutely unique and perfectly distinguishable among thousands, lays the artistic and perfect balance between engineering and agonism, between the hanging of the colours and the fury of speed.
From the Endurance championships to Superturismo, from Rally to F1 and finally to the beloved MotoGP of which he is an exquistite interpreter since 2002. Mirco has seen the world through the circuits and his lens without overlooking that is a thin line that separates life from racing and this line can be crossed with images and creativity.
Therefore, it is in the armonic flight of a seagull that Jorge Lorenzo’s drifting vanishes, or between a California-born olive tree’s branches that Marquez’s Honda jumps out roaring. That’s the philosophy, the spirit, the end of it all: the world is a spinning thing, life itself is nothing but movement and capturing this motion in a perfect, timeless image is Mirco’s reason of life.
Because there’s more than just the photo that meets the eye.
